Crack Fillinvolves the sealing of small cracks to prevent dirt and water from working down into the base layer. A hot rubberized sealant is used to ensure a superior and air-tight seal.
Potholesoccur when water seeps into the pavement through unsealed or improperly sealed cracks. Continual water penetration erodes the sub base creating a void. Surrounding pavement falls into the void and forms a pothole.
Before repairing a pothole we do a sub grade and base rock analysis and complete any necessary repairs before applying asphalt. Pothole repairs are accomplished by saw cutting the existing asphalt and replacing it with fresh new hot mix asphalt, which is compacted to meet the existing asphalt grade.
